Testimonies & Pedigrees:
Jessie, pup out of Millie & Duke.  .......... She is
smart and learns quickly. ..... We live on the river,
and she is fast becoming the river dog we hoped
for....... We love her more and more each day. I'm
not sure what we would do without her in our lives
right now. I would encourage anyone looking for a
dog to meet Candy and Joe's Labradors. I know
them all, and they are all wonderful, loving,
intelligent dogs."  Kim & Bob
This is Mylee, female pup
from Roxie and Duke's
Nov. 2007 litter.
Rosy and Duke, our wonderful
Princess's parents.
Comments from our last yellow litter out of Roxie and
Duke:  "....we thought you would want to see our beloved
Jack (picture above) and how he has grown.  He is amazing!!
He sits, stays, "get the duck", walks on a leash.......potty
trained at 9 weeks.....I could go on and on........We can't
imagine life without him.  Thank you for the wonderful
Christmas gift."  Marie and Dave

"We want to wish you both Happy New Year and thank you
for our puppy "Stella" (from Princess' last litter 2008).
Her name is perfect because she has become our little "star.
She's growing fast (already 50 lbs) and is a healthy, happy
little girl. Of course she can be a goofy little puppy with
all the antics that apply, but she is very intelligent, eager
to please, and has an excellent temperament.  We couldn't
be happier with her".  Nan & Bob

We wanted to send you a little Christmas Greeting from one
of your pups.  We are so in love with this guy.  He is the
best, smartest and most handsome dog we have had.  I have
never been told so many times how nice looking my dog is.  I
can’t believe Duke (or as we usually call him “Dukers”) is
almost a year now.  He is such a wonderful dog.  In fact, he
doesn't’t even need to be in his kennel while we leave
anymore.  He is absolutely wonderful with the kids.  In fact
he has even made a friend… I take him to work with me and
the company next door has a chocolate lab. They play ALL
day long.  My husband is a pheasant hunter and has been
working with Duke.  He is doing wonderfully and he will be
going on his first hunt in just a few weeks.  They are very
excited.  Thanks again for such a wonderful dog!!!!  Jason &
Barb (Princess litter of Jan. 08)

"..............., Roger (Duke and Millie 10/12/06) is a two-year
old energetic, smart and handsome boy!  He’s a great
companion, a smart guy, and a sweetheart.  He’s shiny, tall
and quite lean and athletic...............  He runs and hikes with
us, and swims along side of the kayaks, loves to go in boats
and cars, seems like he’d be an amazing hunter.  We don’t
hunt, but I can see the intuition and skill---he’s flushed a
ton of birds.  I am not competing in agility, but my friend
out in Waterloo has the whole setup in her pole barn, and
Roger goes out there a lot and runs courses.  He’s really
fast for such a big dog, and he loves it.............. He’s a good
traveler, too.  We’ve taken him with us on out-of-town
visits and while he is exuberant and friendly and curious, he
settles in pretty well for a young guy."  Doug & Muriel

Tim and Ruger
pheasant hunting in
the fall of 2006.
Ruger, at 9 months old,
put up almost 100
birds and only lost 1.
We continuously hear back from owners of pups from all our females.  They couldn't be any happier with the
pups from Wood Labradors!!

Thank you to all who sent 2008 Christmas cards with pictures of their gorgeous dogs.
Please let me share one
from a family who drove to Wisconsin from Missouri to purchase a pup:
Parents: "We want to thank you so much for Ginger.  She has brought so much joy and her personality and charm have been
irresistible."  "Ginger is a well-behaved playful puppy with lots of personality and full of love......" Children:  "Thank you for
the puppy.  She is so fun around the house and she has become part of our family."  "Thank you for helping us find a perfect
puppy.  She is so fun to play with.  I love her.  She has already learned to scratch at the door to go potty."  Brett, Andrea,
Gracie and Jonas
We are so blessed to meet our Lab loving customers !!!!      Candy & Joe
Ted, belonging to Emily & Nathaniel.    Pup is out
of Princess.  This is a grandson to our Duke  ."We
just had Ted in for his 3 month check up. Thought
I'd give you an update. He's 32 lbs. ................ But
the vet (and everyone he meets) keeps saying he's
going to be a huge dog!
He is such a good puppy............. He knows sit, down,
shake, and rollover already. He was crate trained
from night 2............... We are so lucky.   Everyone
asks where we got him from as everybody thinks
he's adorable. The vet technician shows him off to
the people in the lab every time we're
there..........Thanks so much for breeding such good
puppies!"  Emily & Nathaniel (Pup out of Princess)
Sassy, female out of Princess and her big sister, Magic. What an
adorable pup!!!!
"We've been very anxious to send pictures and give you an update on
our "Sassy" girl.  Sassy and Magic (our 7-year old female black lab)
are now best buddies.  They have adjusted to one another and bring
out the best in each other........  AND - speaking of grown - she is in
excess of 30 pounds(she was 15 weeks old as of November 2nd) and
that is over half of what Magic weighs!  She has been out pheasant
"hunting" twice and has a good teacher in Magic........We are
TOTALLY in love with this dog.  She is smart, sociable, loving,
good-natured, and quite the cuddler! ...........She is everything you
"advertised" her to be and we are VERY VERY happy to have her as
part of our family!  Ray & Kim (Female pup out of Princess.)  And,
thanks Ray & Kim for referring another customer to us !!!!
"Almost two years ago I visited your house to see Duke
before I purchased a puppy out of Tessa and Duke......"
Then the customer wrote this to Tessa's owner:
"I could write a book about Toddy I got from you. He is
so gorgeous as you will see in the pictures.. I get the
most compliments on how awesome Toddy looks.. From
the time he was a puppy he has been a head turner to
now where people still can't believe how beautiful and
muscular he is.  In terms of hunting Toddy has a nose
like no other.. That dog can just flat out find birds. He
flushed his first bird at age 6 months in the county
land and he was all business since then.
This year was his second season and if there was birds
around Toddy found them.
I am now getting him into the hunting competitions of
Shoot to Retrieve.. He gets points for the flush, I get
points for the shot and he gets points for the whole
retrieve. Now that we will be getting all the retrieving
points I am confident that I will be able to  make him
into a Shoot to Retrieve champion.. My goal is to get
him to the level of competing in the National Bird Dog
Challenge.
I just want to say that Toddy is everything you told me
he would be and I really appreciate your honesty and
knowledge as a breeder.  I will recommend anyone to get
a lab pup from you". (Son of our sire Duke)
"We just wanted to write you a quick
note and tell you how pleased we are with
our new pup Lucy (out of Roxie/Duke
10/27).  She has fit in very well with us
and our lab Buck.  Very bright and
energetic.  Learns very quickly while
following Buck around the place."
"Hi Candy, hope all is well with you.
Just thought I'd drop a note regarding
our Elliott (black lab litter of Millie &
Dukes 10/12/2006)..... he was the last
one left of that litter.......
We can't tell you how many compliments
we get on Elliott.  He has turned into an
excellent hunter, and we've been given
many compliments as to his hunting
abilities by several "Championship"
trainers.  In his last hunt a few weeks
ago, Elliott honored a pointer two times,
and this trainer was so impressed by
Elliott's talents.  In fact, this trainer
asked for Elliott's breeder's name so I
forwarded your website to him.

Our nephew Tom also can't tell us
enough about his Barley (Millie and
Duke's April 2007 litter), a great dog
too.  Elliott, Barley & Jake have many
play dates at our lake cottage in Pelican
Lake, WI.  They all love each other.

Thank you again for breading the best
dogs around. Our five grandgirls love him
and he is so gentle with all of them."
From a couple who want to breed their female to Duke:
Candy,
I’m so happy to have met you and your husband (and Duke, Princess, and the
whole gang) last Sunday. We are very excited to bring our Misty to your farm
breed to Duke. I am quite confident the outcome will be GORGEOUS dogs with
very sweet dispositions. And let me say, that while we searched for a stud, we
ran into quite a few pretentious, elitist personalities, but Wood Labradors is
quite the contrary. You are lovely people with exceptional labs…
Please accept our thanks for your hospitality and the wisdom you passed along
so freely. We have scheduled Misty’s vaccination appointment for next Tues,
and wait [im]patiently for her heat cycle to begin!
Marcia & John
***Note:  Duke and Misty bred for a very nice litter. ***
Stella celebrated her first birthday on
Monday (from Princess and Redford's litter
in 2008), and I thought I would share the
photos. She is an incredible dog and we
couldn't be more in love with her. Hope you,
Joe, and all your critters are doing well and
enjoying this beautiful summer.
Piper, out of Roxie and
Duke's Oct. 2008 litter.
Isn't she just adorable?!?!
Her owners state, "thanks
for such a great dog.  We
couldn't be happier."
